Children’s Ministry
Mission Zoom Partners with two individuals doing children’s ministry in their own communities. Each of these ministries are aimed at helping children know and follow Jesus.
La Ultima Cosecha- Los Salados
La Ultima Cosecha or “The Last Harvest” was started by Maria Gergoria Vargas in 2014. Early on, she developed a heart for the children in her community and soon noticed that they didn’t have a place where they could be cared for and taught positive things when they were not in school. Maria took it upon herself to start something that was beyond childcare, something that could have a lasting impact. The children who participate with La Ultima Cosecha come for Bible study on Thursdays from 4- 6 pm and on Saturdays from 1-2 pm. Throughout the year you can find Maria teaching the kids various other skills, and taking them on different trips during the summer. Maria also loves investing in the older girls in her community by teaching them how to cook.
Ministerio Dejando Huellas- Monte Adentro
After years of working in construction, Generoso Feliz Arturo was injured in a motorcycle accident which resulted in the loss of his leg. While this would be a tragic turn of events for many, God used it to present an opportunity for Generoso and his wife Jessica. When he recovered from the accident, he turned his full attention to his community, where he and his family began intentionally sharing the gospel with their neighbors. Over time, this developed into a very active children’s ministry where more than 60 kids from all over the community regularly gather at their house to sing praise songs and hear Bible teaching about Jesus. They are also reaching out to the parents of these children with the good news of the gospel. In the summer of 2023, they noticed that some kids struggled with their reading abilities, so they launched a literacy class, starting with 4th graders. To this point, many of the students have grown, and mastered their ability to read!
